I am very pleased to announce our latest deal: the sale of Handshake to Shopify.
Founded in 2010, Handshake built a sophisticated B2B commerce platform designed to help suppliers build stronger relationships with their customers. The company's platform makes it easy for customers to order the right products from them, in-person and online, enabling sales representatives and their customers to rapidly place orders on any device, anywhere, anytime.
While Shopify continues to serve small merchants, Shopify Plus is becoming an increasingly important part of their business. The acquisition of Handshake brings significant product capability and domain expertise to help them meet the needs of larger merchants.
This is our second sale to Shopify in the last six months. We expect to see continued and increasing consolidation in the e-commerce sector going forward.
